PowerSDR KE9NS v2.8

On my 5000, I use the "Hamlib" in Fldigi's setup menu, & choose Kenwood TS-2000. Works great. You will need to setup "Virtual Serial Ports" for the various digital apps you want to run. (Google VSPM by K5FR). For PTT, (and perhaps other control you may want), use DD UTIL.

With a tube amp, you want the amp to key first, and unkey last so there is no RF hotswitching at the amp's antenna relay. This is done by keying the amp with the "TX1" RCA jack. BUT, set the delay on "TX3" to around 75ms (others set to 0). Check all 3 TX jacks to "on", ...

For what it's worth, my 5000 agrees exactly with my LP100A watt meter. If there is much coax length between the radio and meter, you could see a difference..

Ended up being a bad update download. Re-loaded everything & it works great again. Had all databases & memories backed up and that made it MUCH easier..

I noticed last night that after being on 2 meter FM, when I went back to the SSB mic profile, the settings for FM were still in effect for the the TX EQ. Guess I did not sound good. Running V2.8.0.161 here as well and the 2nd meter works fine. Only problem I've had since .161 is that occasionally, the "Check for Updates" doesn't work. Also, for some reason, there is always an open window with the Flex app down in the tray that says "Spotter Settings", but I ...

It's in the "TRANSMIT" tab, lower right hand corner. I didn't have that problem, strange. Good luck..
