Re: IRQ shared by USB
I'm surprised MS let you install Win11 on an older machine (dual core cpu)? They must be loosing up the specs. Try moving the FireWire card into a different slot (doesn't matter if the slot is a longer x16 PCIe slot)? Usually a different slot will give you a different IRQ Darrin Is there any way to...

Re: IRQ shared by USB
Yes, I got the machine like that I was also.
I did that with both cards.
Same result
Win 10 now when I load PowerSDR, I get an out-of-memory error.
Installing a lot of updates including .net 3.5 , 4.8, and 4.8.1 and win 10 version 22H2

Changed to the Via Card same problem. I went through the Firewire shut-off options and boosted performance.

Re: Dell XPS Crashing Again Texas Instruments Firewire Card
I researched going to Win10 and this new about a year old PC XPS-8960 will not run win 10 since there is no drivers from Dell. Today, I will try to install it anyway and see if there are Windows default drivers that will install it. If it will not work then I will reinstall Win 11 and hope for the b...

Re: Dell XPS Crashing Again Texas Instruments Firewire Card
I got so frustrated that I put it on the side for a while and thought about selling the 5000a. But I hate to give up. Recap: I have the VI chipset card installed getting the same Blue screen Of Death as the TI card that I returned to Amazon. when pressing the Stop button or switching to another prof...

Re: Dell XPS Crashing Again Texas Instruments Firewire Card
@Darrin I re-read your reply above and thought I had Windows core isolation->memory integrity is OFF It's off now and BAM! I will spit up into the air and say it's fixed. I will test it later today and verify it. I turned it off about 4 times and wrote AM and SSB settings to DB 4 times and pressed o...

Re: Dell XPS Crashing Again Texas Instruments Firewire Card
One thing to try would be to disable the Win11 defender real-time protection. See if PowerSDR will run with defender real-time turned off? And make sure Windows core isolation->memory integrity is OFF. (Just remember that the real-time defender will turn back on every time you turn your PC OFF/ON) ...

Re: Dell XPS Crashing Again Texas Instruments Firewire Card
Some radio amateurs are giving up on their FLEX3000/FLEX5000 because they are unable to use it stably on new PCs with Windows 10/11. I don't know how Darrin manages to use PowerSDR 24/7 without experiencing BSOD with Windows 11. I and many others have not had success, with the most diverse hardware...
