I see the video
Very strange.
Take a screen shot of the VAC1 settings on HF and a screen shot of VAC1 on 6m
Also, Make sure you do not set the Buffer latency too low. If its too low and your PC is unable to keep up, it can cause issues with the audio output.

Re: cw skimmer does not decode on 6 meters Topic is solved
As a test, I ran FLDIGI to see if I could decode the 6m Beacon. FLDIGI had a hard time but it did decode the CW.
CW Skimmer was not decoding anything.
I may try running CW Skimmer with just 3khz wide audio, instead of the wide IQ audio, and see if it runs better?

Re: cw skimmer does not decode on 6 meters Topic is solved
That does not make any sense unless the signals are just too low to decode? Maybe take a screen shot of the CW SKimmer with the CW signal present. Does the CW signal look distorted as viewed in CW Skimmer? I found a CW beacon on 50.072 mhz near me, but I currently dont have a real 6m antenna. I coul...

I would try a doing a Setup->Factory Defaults It will save a copy of your current database as a backup to your desktop before it returns you back to the saved EEPROM calibrations and factory defaults. See what happens? You can always do a setup->import, to go back to your database if that does not s...

Well, my code skills are lacking when it comes to portability and readability.
I'm usually writing code on the fly, just trying to make it function, with no clue where I will end up.

Re: Issues after new installation
If a Windows PC Sound device was selected in either VAC1 or 2, and is now no longer present, you will get a crash because the device is not found. (need to work on that) Example: If you had a USB headset with a MIC plugged in originally but currently unplugged, then plug it back in, run PowerSDR, an...

Re: Flex 5000/CWSkimmer CAT Communication Inconsistancy
And just one more note for anyone using CW Skimmer (or any program using a VAC "IQ" stream): You cannot use the PowerSDR "PAN scrolling" feature I recently added, with CW Skimmer. This is because CW Skimmer uses the VAC IQ stream as opposed to a normal "Bandpass" VAC au...

Re: Firewire Adapter for USB-C
Yes, if you click on the left side FireWire link on my website, open it up and scroll down, you will see the photos of the entire chain of adapters. Its unfortunate that Apple stopped making the adapter. I know it will work with Thunderbolt 2 or 3(with a 3 to 2 cable) but I dont know about Thunderbo...

Re: Firewire Adapter for USB-C
FireWire only comes in PCI slot(obsolete), PCMCIA slot (obsolete laptop PCI), Expresscard slot (PCIe found on the outside of older laptops), Thunderbolt (which is PCIe over cable), "MINI PCIe" slot (found inside some laptops), and the original desktop PCIe Slot x1 through x16. If your USB-...

Re: BSOD again newer Computer
I am sorry for all the troubles your having. I am out of of things to try. go and download PowerSDR v2.7.2 and install (it will not touch the v2.8.0 install) https://www.flexradio.com/software/powersdr_v2-7-2_installer/ You may have better luck with the v2.7.2 (which is the last version before my co...

Re: BSOD New Computer
Just for reference, these are the 3 PCs I have a Flex-5000 (FireWire) running on: The Dell I have working with PowerSDR and Win10 x64 pro is a Optiplex 7010 (intel i5 quad core) My main Shack PC is a MSI B350M Mortar (AMD Ryzen 2600 12 cores) and Win11 x64 pro. My very old Toshiba laptop (intel i5 q...

Re: BSOD New Computer
Any computer that comes with Win7 installed probably means its a very old PC with only a few CPU cores. Installing Win7 means finding an old copy of Win7 Ultimate (which didnt need a key) and doing a fresh install. At home I run a AMD Ryzen CPU with a motherboard running a AMD B350 chipset and Win11...

OK on the 2nd FireWire card, on the Win11 FireWire drivers and on the no anti-virus. Just to confirm, when you uninstalled PowerSDR, did you uninstall the Flexradio.exe program as well? If you went in Windows control panel->programs and features, it would be listed as "Flexradio 4.1.3.17357&quo...

Re: BSOD New Computer
Not sure what you mean by Turbo Mode? That usually a BIOS tweak to overclock the PC. I would not do that as that can lead to instability Just make sure the Control Panel "Power Options" is set to "High Performance" and that any BIOS feature that is used to save power (which just ...

Re: BSOD New Computer
I did a virgin PowerSDR 2.8 install on an old Dell Optiplex 7010 i5(Intel quad core) running a fully updated Win10 x64 PRO OS. Its power mode is "high performance". This unit has 1 half height PCIe x16 slot. I plugged the FireWire card into it. I used a FireWire PCIexpress card with a TI X...

Are you still using the legacy driver OR the Texas instruments 1394 OHCI compliant host controller driver? What Setup->Audio->Primary->Sample rate are you using 92khz or 192khz (try 92khz)? What Setup->Options->Process Priority level do you have it set to? When you run the Flexradio.exe program chan...

4m band activation?
In PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0.300 I have activated possible transmit on the 4m band (70mhz) for the Flex-5000 In experimenting with the VU5K module (extending the Receive range of 2m and 70cm), it appeared that the Upper Receive limit on the Flex-5000 was possibly 75mhz? I assume this is really pushing i...

8m band 40mhz activated
In PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0.300 I have opened up the 8m band (40mhz) for transmit. This uses the 6m calibrations for the PA (since the Calibration routines do not have any 8m info) And there is no 8m LPF and hopefully the radios firmware should be using the 6m LPF for the 8m band. It appears to transmi...

Re: V2.8.0.300 6M 6m Band Label Text
Make sure to hit the Setup->General->Options->update BandText Although it doesnt mean much to us in the USA, I not only added the 8m band, I added 4m as well (if you have a Flex-5000). A couple of years ago Apache labs offered me a Radio to port over my code, but I dont have as much time as I once h...
