Re: BSOD New Computer
Are you still using the legacy driver OR the Texas instruments 1394 OHCI compliant host controller driver? What Setup->Audio->Primary->Sample rate are you using 92khz or 192khz (try 92khz)? What Setup->Options->Process Priority level do you have it set to? When you run the Flexradio.exe program chan...

4m band activation?
In PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0.300 I have activated possible transmit on the 4m band (70mhz) for the Flex-5000 In experimenting with the VU5K module (extending the Receive range of 2m and 70cm), it appeared that the Upper Receive limit on the Flex-5000 was possibly 75mhz? I assume this is really pushing i...

8m band 40mhz activated
In PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0.300 I have opened up the 8m band (40mhz) for transmit. This uses the 6m calibrations for the PA (since the Calibration routines do not have any 8m info) And there is no 8m LPF and hopefully the radios firmware should be using the 6m LPF for the 8m band. It appears to transmi...

Re: V2.8.0.300 6M 6m Band Label Text
Make sure to hit the Setup->General->Options->update BandText Although it doesnt mean much to us in the USA, I not only added the 8m band, I added 4m as well (if you have a Flex-5000). A couple of years ago Apache labs offered me a Radio to port over my code, but I dont have as much time as I once h...

Re: BSOD New Computer
Have you tried running just the normal FireWire drivers (not the legacy drivers)? When I moved to a AMD Ryzen CPU and motherboard, I run only the standard TI Firewire driver. You can try moving the FireWire card to any other PCIe slot (no matter how large the slot is). Some PCIe slots are actually s...

Re: BSOD New Computer
I am assuming your running a Flex-3000 or Flex-5000 and so have a 1394 FireWire card in your PC? DPC latency issues are usually seen as a freeze that occurs on your Pan Display, not a crash. For latency you can run the FlexRadio.exe program (for FireWire) and change the FireWire operating mode to Sa...

Flex-5000 on the 630m band
I found out the reason why the Flex-5000 will not output below the 160m band. The original schematic (HTRX board) for the 5000 claims a LPF for 160m in the Transmit section of the circuit (Between K16-K17). This is the LPF's before the PA Drivers. When I opened up my 5000 I found that Flexradio had ...

Re: flex 5000a receive audio goes low then normal
I would definitely run in 192khz sample rate since you get to see much more of the band on the Panafall display.
Not sure why that would effect your audio levels though?
But if it happens again, plug in headphones and see if it still happens.

What kind of speaker are you using?
Try using some different speaker or headphones to see what happens?

Re: flex 5000a receive audio goes low then normal
I do know that if your in AM or SAM modes when you Start PowerSDR, the audio is very low at first and then builds up. Its almost like the AGC is set to super SLOW at Start, but goes back to its actual setting afterwards? Its always been that way since I have worked on PowerSDR. But I have no reason ...

Re: Firewire Win11 PFN LIST
Luckily modern motherboards will no longer have IRQ conflict issues since they all use MSI instead of IRQ. If your motherboard supports NVME M.2 hard drives, you have a modern motherboard. So hopefully running the Full installer under "Windows7 compatibility" will help mitigate the PFN cra...

Re: 5000a 2 carriers on tune
OK. I normally keep all the DSP buffers at max 4096. That gives the cleanest, sharpest Receive and Transmit signals. (Although I think sometimes, the NR and ANF function better with the lower DSP buffer sizes.) Anyway, whatever value you choose for the DSP buffers, Its best to save that across all y...

What did you set to 2048?
Was it the Setup->DSP->Options->Buffer Size->TX
What was it before?

Re: 5000a 2 carriers on tune
Is it just on 80m or all bands? I would probably cycle power to the radio and PC, then see if it still does it. If its still present, then do a setup->factory defaults (this will save your current database to your desktop automatically) If it still does this when running factory defaults, I would pr...

Re: d-star
The Panafall display of the Flex-5000 is not effected by the mode your running whatsoever. Literally the only thing that can effect the display is the NB feature... if a very very strong signal is anywhere within the 192khz sample range, it can cause the Noise blanker to display artifacts on clean s...

Re: setting up PowerSDR with a Flex 5000a For 100 Watt AM Mode
Mitch, With the Flex-5000, the SSB and AM definitely have different TX profiles for setup and EQ. Yes keep the carrier at 25watts max (assuming 100 watt output). When I run my Titan amp, I keep my carrier at around 375 watts I have a section on my webpage ke9ns.com/flexpage.html. Click on the eSSB/A...
