Looking for some help with flex5000a power sdr v2.8. I have turned on the red, white and yellow TX relays in software in the ANT menu. When I key the flex I thought I would see the TX RCA port close to gnd, the only change that occurs on the tx relay ports when activated is .6 volt DC present on the rca connector. I have tried this on 2 different flex 5000a radios. If some can tell if i am doing something wrong or if their is another way to control amplifier keyline i would really appreciate it.

From what I remember the RCA output will go from floating to slightly above ground (around a diode drop) when active.
I am able to trigger both my new LDMOS amp and my very old Ten-Tec Titan amp directly from the RCA connector.
To test, grab a small 12vdc relay and connect your +13.8v supply to the relay +coil, and the Red RCA center lead to the other side of the relay coil.
And see what happens when you MOX the radio.

Maybe I'm giving you not what you asked for, but are you using DDUtil to setup your amp?
I also use a Amertron 704 amp keying relay.
This is how I key my ALS-1306 amp.
If this is what your trying to do, and you need help with it, let me know and maybe I can help you with your setup.

Larry,
I have not encountered an Amp that would not allow a direct RCA cable from the my Flex-5000 TX1 to the PTT input of the Amp.
Are you saying the 811h fuse blew? Was that during a TUNE at 50watts?
Or was this just keying the radio in SSB (i.e. no output) and the fuse blew?

Correction. I have now encountered an SPE Expert 1.3k-FA amp that the Flex-5000 RCA output would not KEY with just an RCA cable.
I had to follow the Flex-5000 manual and wire a very small 12vdc relay in between the Flex-5000 RCA output and the SPE KEY line input.

Its possible that the output transistor that is used for TX1 and TX3 may be damaged?
Also make sure Setup->Transmit->"TUN uses TX3 Jack" is not checked.
But Open the ANT panel and see what settings you have for the 3 RCA outputs?
You may try doing a setup->factory defaults and see if the problem clears up after a Reset to Factory defaults?
