New-to-me Flex1500 newbie questions

Hi All,
I've had the 1500 on my desk for about a week and am wondering about a few things, and the Google fails to return answers, nor can I see it in Flex or PowerSDR manuals.

1. CW Sidetone varies with power out. Is there a way to lock the volume level in place no matter the power level? I am not using VAC, audio is coming from the front panel jack.

2. External control knob choices.. The FlexControl and the Griffin and the (insert name here) mentioned in the PowerSDR manual are no longer available. What other knob type devices can I choose from? Can I use something like the CTR2-Dial?

3. Is the PowerSDR API exposed as like it is for SmartSDR? I ask because I'd like to use my Elgato Stream Deck controller to command the radio.

Last, but certainly not least, Darrin - thank you for keeping PowerSDR alive for us!

The Manuals (General: left click, Shortcuts: mouse wheel click, and CAT commands: right click) are available with the "PDF-Manuals" menu item at the top of the PowerSDR console screen. Even though the General manual is specifically for a 5000, most of it still works for the 1500.

The specific 1500 manual is under: C:\Program Files (x86)\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR\Documentation, but its from PowerSDR v2.7.2

The MON button (turns Red when on) output level is tied to the "MON: xx" slider. Click on the "MON: xx" text to select (turns yellow), you can now adjust the monitor output level. Note the 1500 does not have the extra internal DAX channels of the 3000/5000, so MONps MONpr have no function.
Power output is controlled by the "Drive: xx" slider.

The FlexControl is still available.

There are no API's for PowerSDR. So you either have to access using CAT, via TCP or COM ports (see setup->CAT Control) or directly modify the source.

My source code (C#) for the current PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0 is available on github
If you want to modify the code, I can add it back to the main v2.8.0 code.

Thank you Darrin for the detailed reply,

No matter how I set the Monitor slider, when I turn down the Drive to near zero, the CW sidetone also follows it. Is that expected behaviour?

I'll go down the route of checking out CAT control, for I am no coder in any way shape or form.

I did confirm that both the DRIVE and MON slider will effect the output of the MON from the front headphone jack.

I believe its due to a lack of internal DAX audio channels running over the USB link, as its not an issue on the 3000/5000
