Flex-1500 on the 630m Band

Post by ke9ns »

Confirmed: The Flex-1500 will output full power (5 watts) on 630m.
(I was able to be heard running WSPR with just 5 watts)

Things you need (See the 630m link on my webpage for details):
1) Permission from your local power company
2) Unlocked (Extended) Flex-1500
3) 630m LPF (capable of handling 5 watts of TX power out) placed between the radio and your antenna.
4) Large loading coil for your antenna (about 400 uH for a G5RV).
