In PowerSDR ke9ns v2.8.0.300 I have opened up the 8m band (40mhz) for transmit.
This uses the 6m calibrations for the PA (since the Calibration routines do not have any 8m info)
And there is no 8m LPF and hopefully the radios firmware should be using the 6m LPF for the 8m band.
It appears to transmit power (into a dummy load) just fine.
For those with authorization To transmit on 8m, you will need to "Extend" or "Mars" the radio CTRL+SHIFT+D, Low Level Hardware tab, select Mars.
When after rebooting, you will need to open Setup->General->Options->Update BandText
Please let me know if you are able to use this band successfully (both Receive and Transmit)?

Re: 8m band 40mhz activated
Update: Transmitting on my Flex-5000 into a Dummy load, and using my SDRPlay RSP1A Receiver appears to confirm that 8m transmits fine with no harmonics visible on the Panadapter. The signal looks clean. Not sure if your really need a separate LPF for 8m or not now?
