Hello to everyone. Name is Tony. Call sign W2ASC. I hope everyone is healthy and well.
I'm new to the group, and new to amateur radio (licensed about 2 years). Have had a Flex 3000 for a little over one-year now. Absolutely love the KE9NS version of Power SDR and cannot get over how much effort Darrin puts in to it. Thank you!
I used the Flex quite a bit when I first got it the winter before last, but when the weather got nice my radio activities went outdoors, using a Kenwood TS-140S for HF and a Yaesu FT-8900 for FM satellite. This winter I didn't use the Flex all that much due to antenna issues.
Working from home for the past month due to the virus situation, I have been using the Flex quite a bit. Yesterday, I finally took the plunge and upgraded to Windows 10 on the computer I use with the radio (a Dell Optiplex 990). I decided to start from scratch and do a clean install, so I wiped the disk and re-downloaded and reconfigured everything.
One problem arose with the Flex that I cannot figure out. Ever since the first time I used it after the new install, I cannot hear myself through the headphones when I transmit no matter how high I adjust the monitor setting. I've tried different headphones just to be sure that wasn't an issue, and it's not.
However, if I record a CQ or Reply via the Wave menu and then transmit using that recording, I can hear the recording being transmitted.
Any ideas?
One solution I considered and then aborted was to install a backed-up copy of the Flex database configuration from when I was running Windows 7. However, when I tried to load it, Power SDR told me that the database was created with another version of Power SDR and I should use the data transfer application to avoid issues. I could not understand why I got this message, because I was running 2.8.0.164 on Win 7, so the database I archived immediately before the Windows 10 install should have been entirely compatible.
I had never used the data transfer app before, and I was about to try it to see what happened, but I decided to hold off because there is a good chance I am just missing something obvious.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tony,
As long as your database is from v2.8.0.xxx, you can import it. It gives the warning because it may have been from earlier than .164
Are you using the MIC jack on the radio or a PC-VAC for your microphone audio?
How are PTTing the radio?
is the MON set to MONps or MONpr, and does it stay Red when the radio is transmitting?
maybe take a screen shot of the console screen on RX and another on TX so I can see the settings?

Thank you Darin! I knew I was missing something obvious! It was the Mon button. I had it set properly on my old configuration but didn't enable it after the upgrade. I feel very foolish.
