CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz Topic is solved
CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
Hello, thank you for the nice PowerSDR Software.
it is possible to add a CTCSS decoding option and a 1750Hz Burst Button?
I use a 2m Transverter on a Flexradio 3000 and would like to see more options for FM relay operation

How does the 1750hz tone burst work?
Since its clearly in with your voice audio, does it burst for certain length of time after you PTT the radio on every transmission?
Or does it just need to burst once every so many minutes?

Re: CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
the 1750 is only needed for a short time to open the repeater (200-500ms). most radios have a "Tone button" to open the repeater once by pressing PTT at the same time. If the repeater drops out, it must be opened again with the 1750 Hz after 10-20s.
These are unfortunately still old loads on European repeaters
not all of them have CTCSS yet

Re: CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
so do you want this as a on/off 1750hz button that will insert a 1750 tone for 400msec at the start of each PTT ?

Re: CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
i have imagined as a pushbutton that send the 1750 as long as i press it.
The deluxe version would be if the PTT is activated in addition. it would be enough to press the 1750 "Tone" button and manual the PTT. I only need it to open the repeater once at the beginning of the QSO.
i currently use an external tone generator (with my cell phone) to briefly play the 1750 via microphone

Go download .188
I added a 1750hz button (just below the CTCSS button).
F5 key also triggers this button
If the button is RED, then its waiting for a PTT or MOX from you. It will send a 1750 tone for .350msec, 1 time only.
Let me know.

Re: CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
Just to let you know....
Update .189 I needed to change the 1750hz Function key to F7
As the Voice keyer buttons are now: F3, F4, F5, F6

Re: CTCSS decoding & 1750 Hz
Hi Darrin,
I have a small problem with the duration of the 1750 Hz tone.
For opening the some old repeaters in Germany the duration of the tone is too short with 300mSec.
We need between 400ms and 600ms duration. Would it be a big effort for you to program this time variable ?
It would be optimal if we could enter the duration ourselves, with a maximum upper limit of 900mSec.
Best regards,
Hans, DJ4PZ

Go and download .197. I added a length adjustment next to the 1750 button

Darrin, thank you for the quick implementation of my suggestion. Have performed a few attempts, with success.
