N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Monitor

Post by G7DAZ »

Hi all,
i'm not sure if this is a fault/bug but earlier this evening i was listening to 80M (RX1) and 40M (RX2) and had the N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Monitor open on another monitor...this was fine until i came to adjust the vfo on RX1...RX1 adjusted ok...but...the N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Monitor whilst showing the frequency at the top of the window/bar was showing the panafall from RX2 !! ...i thought i was going mad.

Several checks/experiments later it didn't matter which way round i altered first RX2 first the RX1 it always defaulted to the "last" panafall (on PSDR) that i was hovering over (mouse FOCUS) that determined which panafall was displayed on the N1MM spectrum....this wasn't a problem per se but the frequency on the top bar never changed (always read whatever RX1 was, never RX2 even if the spectrum was showing RX2).

So is this a fault, bug or error on PSDR or the N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Monitor ???

Also FWIW i can open another window (N1MM spectrum) but it always shows the same as window 1...any way i can have 2 windows (spectrum) open but showing the display's from both RX1 AND RX2 ??

I probably never tested it with RX2 running.
Need to fix it.

It should be fixed now if version .219
when you click on either RX1 Pan or RX2 pan it will update the N1MM spectrum to reflect the proper Receiver including the freq (whether you minimize PowerSDR or not)

and RX2 can now pan and slide independent of RX1.

Cheers Darrin, you're a star and it's very much appreciated. I shall now download .219 and put it through it's paces :D

Hi Darrin,
the N1MM screens switch to the appropriate band now (many thanks), although i'm certain i could open 2 "spectrum" windows (was always same band) before...no biggie if that has gone.

I don't have the 2 "slider" bars like you have...come to think of it i haven't seen the old slider bar for a while; it wasn't a problem as i adjusted the zoom via my Hercules MP3LE midi controller...but this is only adjusting (zooming) on RX1 only. I did a snapshot but Photobucket is having a meltdown on me...gonna have to find an alternative image sharer.

73 de G7DAZ (Darren)

EDIT :-

The 2 sliders are there (2nd one none functioning) but not on my preferred SKIN i.e. Default 2012 (i like the black sliders) ...changing to some of the other skins causes the odd crash, but not on all of them.

I've unplugged the Hercules and power cycled everything...and the 2nd slider (right hand one) still isn't doing anything...the Centre and Zoom are only having an effect on RX1

Also just noticed that RX2 has gone into "sledge/limp" mode i.e. VFO changes take forever to do (either click n drag or wheel on Hercules are slooooow...mouse wheel is quck though) but VFO changes on RX1 are instantaneous and fast (normal)

Hi Darrin,

i downloaded the newer .219, installed it twice and hit repair on the 2nd go...still the same as before..i.e. RX2 slider has zero effect, the center and zoom also have zero effect on the RX2 slider....RX1 slider is ok.

Go download .220 and install

I tested it with different skins. It appears to be correct now.

Hi Darrin,

the new "black sliders on default 2012 skin" are there now, unfortunately RX2 still isn't doing anything at all...the sliders have zero effect on RX2.

I am getting the odd error/signal-panadapter part in the centre of the screen keeps going white with a red cross corner to corner..the error says :-

Hi Darrin,

today i decided to wipe everything and start again. All folders (as per your instructions) deleted, including the Temp folder in User data etc.

installed the Orange v2.8.0.212 installer, re-started, fired up and all was well, apart from this version not having the 2 sliders. I didn't adjust anything, just left it in stock mode.

installed the Green v2.8.0.220...strange thing is it went straight to REPAIR...i've never noticed the incremential installers do this before; only when i've tried to re-install the same version a 2nd time does it show the "repair" option.

Re-booted, fired up the radio, fired up PSDR (it said ver .20 as it was loading) and back to square one...i.e. RX2 isn't adjustable at all, the signal looks like it's partly zoomed in already (forgot to mention this before) and the RX2 sliders don't do anything...in a nutshell the only thing i can adjust (zoom, center etc) is RX1...all this was done "without" adjusting anything, just left in default stock-mode in case any of my setting were affection the RX2 sliders not working.

I'm on W7 if that makes a difference at all, i also get the error mentioned in the previous post if i click the Zoom tab.

Late night yesterday I found a mistake in the code to prevent RX2 sliders from working unless you have a VU5K module installed.
So go download .220 over again, and install this 2 times. On the 2nd install select Repair.

Houston, the Eagle has landed 8-) 8-) 8-)

Woo hoo it works again yaaaay...both sliders and both pan-sliders work for both Rx1 & RX2...although the Zoom button crashes it out but i can live without the zoom button. The VU5K as you said above must've caused it to have a meltdown and not having a VU5K probably caused a loop/other.

Just got to put all my settings back to what they were previously.

That RX2 slider is the dog's danglies feature wise; i'm well impressed.

Thank you Darrin you are a star.

Hi Darrin,

any chance of adding the RX2 Pan & Slider adjustments to the Hercules profile, so that i can map the slider for easier quick adjustment ?...possibly the middle 6 rotary controls will be fine. :)
