PowerMate - Bluetooth

Post by NP4SS »

Greetings

I just bought a one owner still on box Flex 5000a - just for curiosity - , but since many videos and stuff seen on youtube, I think Ill have a blast with the 5K.

So, Im used to buttins and knobs, and saw a Brand new Griffin PowerMate Bluetooth Programmable Controller Gold , have ayone used it on the these radios.

Knowing the wired version is discontinued (sad - I really love the elagance of it ), any inout or insighst on the blutooth version?

The software I wrote to communicate with the PowerMate Knob looks for a specific USB device ID.
I may look into writing code for bluetooth devices

So the Griffin Powermate Knob is no longer in production, is there an alternative? Or is the software agnostic to brand and will recognize any wired volume knob?
Looking at a AIMOS USB Multimedia Controller and Input Device Volume Control Knob on Amazon Cheap enough and not sure if Windows would allow you to map turns of the the knob to the mouse center wheel.

Any suggestions/comments appreciated.

As far as I know each vendor has their own format and driver.

So in PowerSDR you have either the FlexControl, Space Navigator, DJConsole MP3, MK2 or PowerMate. All USB devices

I added the PowerMate myself.
I prefer the mouse and mouse wheel over knobs, so I haven't added any others.

If someone writes an interface, I can add it to PowerSDR (like the DJConsole).
