was it working before, or is this the first time your trying to install and run v2.8?

What Model radio do you have?
disconnect your radio and run PowerSDR in DEMO mode. Does it run in DEMO mode?

My Radio is a Flex-3000 and I can run in Demo mode

If you can run in DEMO mode, then its something to do with the 1394 FireWire.
I have some info if you click on the FireWire link, left side on my webpage (like running the FlexRadio.exe program)
