In need of "muting of speaker audio" on transmit information
In need of "muting of speaker audio" on transmit information
I see on latest revision there is muting of audio on flex 5000. Is this possible on flex 3000? Where on the setup/menu can this option be selected? I have looked and are unable to find information on this. If it is not an option on the flex 3000, is it possible it will be in the future? Please accept my apologies if this information is obvious and I have overlooked it.

Just put the window in "focus" (click somewhere on the window to force a focus), and hold the mouse over most every object on the screen to get "info"
If you right click on the "MUT" button it will toggle to "MUTs".
Now left click to toggle it ON/OFF MUTs will just mute the speaker output on the radio, but leave the headphones running all the time.

Re: In need of "muting of speaker audio" on transmit information
Thanks Darrin.. I misunderstood the update meaning.. I took it to mean you could enable a Speaker mute on transmit, which in my “unthinking want to find a quick fix” mind would be a solution to the rf/hum/distortion I have getting into my speakers on transmit. After I sent the message, I did some experimenting, and realized the only solution to my issue will be more rf suppression, or completely turning off power to the powered speakers. I was aware of the focus/info feature which is great! I’m new to your software and still learning, but very impressed to this point. You are doing a stellar job and I really appreciate your efforts..

Re: In need of "muting of speaker audio" on transmit information
I see....
I use a PC speaker system (with a sub-woofer) when I am not using my Headset. You can see my shack layout from the Panorama picture on my web page. The sub-woofer is hidden behind my 2 monitors (I actually used to keep the Flex behind the monitors as well, without issues), but I try to keep my LDMOS and Titan Amps over to the right side, and the Windows PC way on the left side (with the audio rack).
I have a Ferrite wound RG142 coaxial choke between my Flex and my Amp, and clamp-on Ferrite on every other cable and coax.
And I lifted the ground on the AC power cables from the audio rack gear to avoid a ground loop (I was getting a very slight audio hum from a ground loop).
Luckily I have not had any RF issues (tested up to almost 2000 watts)
