Advice on recording a net

Im trying to record the 3 Texas Traders Nets and post them on YouTube of FaceBook so I have a forum for those who miss the net can listen at there leisure. The nets last over a hour many times so the mp3 file is huge. Average 1.5 to 3 GB. 3 times a week. Any one done sonething like this using KE9NS software??? I can compress the audio but it still is huge file. I am NOT computer savey but willing to learn.

The recording scheduler in the "Memory" screen currently allows up to a 120 min recording.
It initially records in WAV format (about 1.3 GB / hour), but when the recording is finished, it converts it to MP3 automatically, and deletes the Wav file.
The MP3 should be way smaller than the wav file.
I currently save the MP3 at 90% of the best MP3 recording, so its around 60MB/hr. This should be very good audio quality.

The only issue is currently its only for 1 recording every week.
BUT.... The way around is to do a Memory->Copy (2 times).
Then, as an example, you can make 3 weekly recordings. Set the first copy up for Mondays, then the next copy for Wednesday, etc.
Just make sure to select the correct "Memory" from the list, Select the First Day of recording, Select the time in either local time or UTC, select "Sched weekly" and "Record on Sched" boxes. Then repeat for the 2 copies.
You just need to make sure to leave PowerSDR running (either Stopped or Started), and Memory needs to have been opened at least 1 time.


FYI: Quickaudio also saves files in both WAV and MP3 (in a separate folder in the WAVE panel).
That way you can not only playback over-the-air, but send the MP3 to youtube or email it to someone.

Any idea why my recorder, records on the TX freq instead of the RX?

Which recorder are you referring to? The Memory scheduler, the wave recorder, or the quick recorder?

Make sure you dont have a conflict. 2 different Memories scheduled at the same or overlapping time (even if your not recording) will change the VFO.
Otherwise the scheduler just selects the memory and starts the recording. If the frequency changes (for some other reason), then recording will continue until the end of the schedule and the name will show the originally selected memory, and not the frequency you ended up on.
Click on the memory you have scheduled and make sure it goes to the correct freq.
