Flex 1500 Amp Setup
Flex 1500 Amp Setup
I recently purchased a MX-P50M from a local ham. I hooked up the amp to the radio red wire from the amp to the pin 3 on the FlexWire and the black wire to pin 1 of the FlexWire. When I turn the amp on it automatically keys without keying the radio. Is there a setting in the software, did I hook up the wires incorrectly, do I need to use a relay? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Flex 1500 Amp Setup
Click on the antenna panel and make sure PTT OUT is Enabled.
You might want to check and make sure the red wire is truly the Key line, in case something was miswired in the amp (i.e. touch it to ground to key the amp), if it works correctly, then put an amp meter in between the black and red wire to check the current draw when the amp does key up. Make sure its below .25A.

Re: Flex 1500 Amp Setup
Thank you, the wires needed reversed. Red goes to ground and black goes to PTT out
