flex 5000a receive audio goes low then normal

Post by n2rga »

My Flex 5000a with powerSDR 2.8.0.290 Windows 10, receive audio that goes low and then back to normal
The receive meter stays the same reading.
The AF is 100% and AGC-T is 100%
Setup - Audio - Primary Buffersize = 2048, Sample Rate = 96000
VAC 1 and 2 are unchecked.

I do know that if your in AM or SAM modes when you Start PowerSDR, the audio is very low at first and then builds up.
Its almost like the AGC is set to super SLOW at Start, but goes back to its actual setting afterwards?
Its always been that way since I have worked on PowerSDR.
But I have no reason why that is?

It is not just at the start it happens even after running for hours.

What kind of speaker are you using?

Try using some different speaker or headphones to see what happens?

I'm using Bose Companion 2 Series III Speakers.
I think I cured it by switching the Sample Rate in Audio > Primary - Buffer Rate from 96000 to 192000
So far so good

I would definitely run in 192khz sample rate since you get to see much more of the band on the Panafall display.
Not sure why that would effect your audio levels though?
But if it happens again, plug in headphones and see if it still happens.
