Can´t see my Flex-3000
Can´t see my Flex-3000
Hi Guys,
I was using my Flex-3000 conected to a Windows 10 Lenovo Thinkpad P71 througth an Startech Firewire expresscard with VIA Chipset and suddenly it stopped seeing the Flex-3000, telling me that there was no radio conected. The ExpressCard seems to be working fine on the device manager, I changed the driver to the legacy one but I still cant see my Flex. I tried two others expresscards with TI chipset but I get an error message on the device manager. So came back to my old Notebook with a TI expresscard to get my Flex working.
What can I do to get my Thinkpad working with my Flex? It´s a hadware or software issue?

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
I have been using a StarTech 1394 expresscard on my Win10 x64 Toshiba laptop as well with my 3000 for a long time.
If you see the 1394 in device manage with no issues listed, then open the "Flexradio.exe" program, and see what it says?
It should see your 1394 card even if it does not see your 3000?
(this assumes the 1394 cable is OK, and your power supply to your 3000 is OK).

My 3000 and 1394 cable works fine with other Notebook and TI expresscard
In the Flexradio.exe I can see:

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
Maybe take a screen shot of that screen showing the OHCI controller info
AND a screen shot of the main FlexRadio.exe screen.
From your last post, it looks like your 1394 controller is not properly recognized by Windows.

Tks Darrin,
I couldn´t paste the shots here but the main FlexRadio.exe screen is empty and the OHCI controller ( Legacy) info is:
04/01/2013
6.1.7601.22370

If you post pictures here, email them to me ke9ns@ke9ns.com
but also send pictures of windows device manager showing your 1394 device in the list.

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
You your pictures.
Since your 1394 FireWire card is showing up in windows device manager (which is good),
but its not being detected by the Flexradio software.
So go into windows control panel->programs and features.
Uninstall both PowerSDR and Flexradio programs
Then remove the following folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FlexRadio Systems
C:\Program Files\FlexRadio
C:\Program Files\FlexRadio Systems
C:\ProgramData\FlexRadio Systems
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio Systems\
Basically remove any folder with the FlexRadio name on it.
Then Reboot your PC.
Turn off and unplug your Radio 1394 cable.
Make sure your windows User account has full ADMIN privileges.
Then Download and install the Orange Full installer
It should work.

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
I am having this trouble with my 5000A. I have tried everything I can think of and what is in this chain. I also had originally purchased a VIA chipset card that I replaced with the TI chipset card that you recommend hoping that would help and it did not. I have a Core I5 with 16GB RAM and running Windows 10 Pro. I attached some screenshots showing the results of both the regular 1394 driver for the card and the legacy driver from Windows as you described on the webpage. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
Here is the 5th screenshot. It would only allow me to attach 4 files at a time. As you can see, when using the legacy driver the Flex software doesn't even see the card but shows fine in Device Manager. With the "factory" driver, the Flex software sees the card with no issue.

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
Its very possible that the "Legacy" drivers have issues with newer Win10 versions.
Every time Microsoft comes up with a major Ver update to Win10, they tend to break drivers.
(if you are switching between drivers, its best to reboot your PC after you make the change, and also pull the 13.8v cord from the Flex-5000)
Your screenshoot_4 looks identical to my info (other than the CPU as I run an AMD Ryzen)
Questions:
So if you run the standard TI driver, FlexRadio app still does not detect your Flex-5000?
OR is it detecting the Flex-5000 but its just not running properly?
When you tried to uninstall everything prior to this, did you also uninstall the "FlexRadio 4.1.3.17357" program as well?
FYI:
I use the same exact TI chipset as you and the standard MS TI driver.
its worked very well for a couple of years. So I would stick with that.
I am running Win10 x64 Pro Ver 1909
But I also run the VIA chipset Express card on my Toshiba with no issues
And I just upgraded to Win10 x64 Pro Ver 20h2 and it all runs fine.

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
I have DELL OPTIPLEX 7010 with WIN 10 64 bit Prof 21H1.
I can not properly install the Flexplex IEEE driver.
Using different cards i get the Message:
Could't get online data.
The card is recognized by Windows without errors. The internet connection work well.

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
The FlexRadio not will be detected. On PC-site all seems correct.
How i can test, if the firewire-port (hardware) on Flexradio 3000 works correct?

Re: Can´t see my Flex-3000
If you have a virus protection program, you may need to uninstall it (turning it off will not work).
Then do the FULL (Orange) installer over again and see if that works.
I only use Windows Defender (built into Win10)
