Hello OMs,
I am in the process of assembling a station which consists of a Flex 5000, Microkeyer II and SPE 1 kFA amplifier. Microkeyer provides CV output which makes possible to control SPE amplifier and in the same time I use it as an interface for digital modes.
MIcrokeyer audio cables are connected to LINE IN/LINE OUT on the back of Flex 5000. Receiving part works very well, however TX signal is a problem.
On an external receiver I can see my very faint TX signal. On Windows Playaback panel Headset earphone ( 3-microham CODEC) indicator is green to its top while I transmit. There is no RF output, zero watts on PSDR power meter , JTDX power slider is at its top.
I experimented with Muzychenko's VAC cable, it worked fine on RX and TX. I prefer using Microkeyer as it provides amplifier control and I avoid using
DDUTIL as i had problems with disappearing virtual ports and its overall stability. My current configuration seems to be very stable.
I use a Dell M-470 laptop with Windows 10.
Most likely I miss something simple and a suggestion how to resolve this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Tom

Re: Flex 5000and Mictokeyer II- TX audio problem
I dont think you dont need the microkeyer with PowerSDR
PowerSDR and its CAT Control connection will allow your SPE to talk to PowerSDR.
For the SPE just connect a USB cable between your PC and SPE, the COM port that is created when you plug it into your SPE will be listed under windows device manager COM ports, just use that COM port in PowerSDR setup->Cat Control->Cat Control->
Just add that COM port to the list and enable it.
All your digital modes connect to PowerSDR via Virtual audio cables (VAC) (see my ke9ns.com/flexpage.html and click the "virtual audio" link)
you also need to check the "virtual cable(cat)" link
It just comes down to installing and running the free VspMgr and installing a VAC cable like VB-Audio (see the "other software" link on my website)
