.263 incremental installs here fine.
Assuming you already have some version of v2.8 installed and running, I would download and try to install .263

Thanks Darrin,

I am continuing to have problems and cannot update 2.8 on any of 3 different Win 10/11 machines. Win 11 was good but not now ???

I am going to try a new Win 11 machine which I did install 2.8 on several months ago...I am also going to shut off Microsoft automatic updates on the 2 new machines

I assume your User does have ADMIN level privileges? Meaning your user can install windows updates without asking for a password?

You can try right clicking on the installer and select "Troubleshoot" to see if it can figure anything out.

Those fault messages have to do with your Windows PC user and the folder: C:\Windows\Temp
Your windows user does not have Full ADMIN level privileges to access this Temp folder.
The installer needs full access to this folder.
You can navigate to the folder and right click to allow full access to the folder.
Once you have full access, it should install.
