Greetings,
I am seeing a small rf carrier 10kc on each side of my operating frequency, I am seeing this on another Hams SDR receiver.
I have tried un-installing Power SDR and re-installing the program which did not take care of the problem on both the 5000a or 3000.
I did put my Kenwood back in-line and there were no spikes on each side of the operating frequency.
I am lost and not sure what to do next.

Re: Flex 5000a/3000 AM Transmit
Richard,
Your getting a 10kc spike just from keying the radio, and no audio input. Do you see it on your own Panadapter display?
The fastest way to test out if the issue is in the calibration or database, is to do a Setup->factory Defaults. That will backup your current database to your desktop automatically and then reset back to day 1. Uninstalling/Reinstalling will not remove the databases automatically.
But since you say its happening on 2 different radios, which use 2 different databases, I dont see how it can be corruption in your database. I can only think its to do with your AM Setup, or possibly an RFI issue?
As far as setup, take a look at my website (the left side quicklink for "eSSB/AM"), and scroll down the AM setup section. Check out how I configure for AM.
If you want, take some screen shots of the full console screen (while transmitting), and the Mixer screen, the setup->transmit screen, and setup->DSP screen

Yes I am getting a 10kc carrier spike on each side of my operating frequency. I have keyed up as well with no mic inline to make sure that was not the issue. I do not see this on my Panadapter, only on the receiver of my friends Panadater 15 miles away.
I tried the factory default reset before I came to you and as I mentioned i deleted the whole program and did a fresh install since what I was using has been on my PC for 3 years, thinking it might have been a software glitch. I even just set up the whole radio again instead of importing my files.
RFI maybe or could be an issue, but I have re-routed cables and they all have ferrite on them. My 3000 has been in-line for 3 years and never has done this before. I just bought this 5000 Two weeks ago and this is when I started having issues with both of them.
I based my set-up on you settings, as soon as I can figure out how to upload pic's I will include them into this thread.

Re: Flex 5000a/3000 AM Transmit
Richard,
As long as you did a "factory defaults" and you saw the message popups about PowerSDR reading the EEPROM RX and TX Calibrations, then you know the database or calibrations are not the issue.
And since it happening on 2 radios identically, it points to something external. Maybe RFI, ground loop, power supply?
At that point, I would pull the 5000 out, and put the 3000 back exactly the way you had it and see if it clears up?
That is a strange one.

Hi:
I had a similar problem, except the "carriers" were around 5 kHz when I tried using a Yaesu MD100 microphone.
